Overview:

The position of Centre Manager Ocean Village Innovation Centre is a key role in generating and enhancing the sales and ultimate financial performance of the centre; delivering all aspects of sales and marketing for the centre to attract new customers and ensure the retention of existing customer.

Reporting to: Regional Manager Solent

Major objectives of the role:

  • To generate new sales leads and follow up on all expressions of interest for available space in the centre.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Promote available space in the centre on pre- agreed commercial terms

  • To generate revenue from various products available in the centre

  • To ensure the centre is fully exposed to the market to maximize revenue opportunities

  • Network with influencers and inward investment bodies and target potential customers as required

  • Liaison with Oxford Innovation Marketing Team to assist in preparing marketing collateral suitable for the centre

  • Identify, recommend and implement local marketing initiatives

  • Identify additional revenue creating opportunities

  • Maintain an awareness of Oxford Innovation’s range of services, projects and expertise and promote appropriately to partners and clients

  • Develop a community of entrepreneurs within the centres

  • Develop and maintain links between the centre and organisations in the local economy, both public and private

  • Liaise with the centre’s client where appropriate

  • Input and maintain CRM data and provide regular reports on sales trends to the Commercial Director

    Experience:

    Previous success of generating and delivering exceptional sales performance

  • Refined networking skills demonstrated through the ability to maximise revenue opportunities

  • Evidence of excellent negotiation skills within previous roles

    Personal Competences:

  • Good communication skills, tactful and persuasive

  • Highly self-motivated and proactive with a desire to contribute to the company more widely

  • Client and customer services focussed

  • Ability to work under pressure and multi task

    Hours of Work:

  • A full-time role (minimum core hours of 37.5 hours per week) worked between Monday and Friday, but flexibility required to meet the needs of the business.

    Salary and benefits:

  • £28,000 p/a plus performance related bonus
